LANCASTER, Pa. – For the second time this season, a member of the Franklin & Marshall men's golf team has been recognized as the Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Max Silverman was named the CC Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career after leading wire-to-wire in the F&M Spring Invitational.
Silverman joins
Oliver Clark as the only Diplomats to earn Athlete of the Week this season after Clark was tabbed with the weekly honor in late-September.
Silverman posted a 66 (five-under par) in Sunday's round, followed by a 73 (two-over) on Monday to bring his overall score to 139 (three-under par). The junior was the only golfer in the two-day tournament to card a round in the 60's, winning the event by six strokes. Silverman and the Diplomats' "A" team shot a 284 to end day one even-par. The group followed with a 296 (12-over par) on the final day to bring its overall score to 580 (12-over par), leading the field of 15 teams.
Franklin & Marshall now gears up for the Centennial Conference Championship with round one teeing off on Friday.
