Diplomats Sixth Halfway Through McDaniel Invite

Saturday's Results

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Paced by Cameron Warner's 74, Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team is in sixth place out of the 15 teams halfway through competition at the 36-hole McDaniel College Invitational.

Warner's 74 leaves him two strokes over par at The Bridges Golf Club, and in a three-way tie for second place heading into Sunday's competition. The 74 also marks his best round through eight played in the 2009-2010 season. Warner is a single stroke off of Susquehanna's Mitch Mercer, the tournament leader.

Susquehanna has the team lead on the field with a 310 on Saturday, two strokes better than New York University and the University of Rochester.

Warner is one of two Diplomats in the top 20 of the 78-golfer field. Jeremy Rubin shot 79 to finish the day in a five-way tie for 19th place. The Diplomats turned in a 320 to head into Sunday ten strokes off of the lead. Danny Liebowitz shot 83 and is tied for 42nd, while Brendan Mohler shot 84 and is in 47th. Kevin Goserud is in 68th at the halfway point. He turned in an 88.

The Nevonian golfers return to action tomorrow morning for the final round at The Bridges.
