ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Cameron Warner shot 76 on Sunday to
finish the McDaniel College Invitational in a four-way tie for
second place. He paced Franklin & Marshall to a fifth place
finish in the 15-team tournament.
Wrestling with the wind, Warner added two strokes to his
Saturday round. He carded a 76 on Sunday to finish the tournament
at The Bridges Golf Club six shots over par. Warner posted a
two-round total of 150, finishing in a four-way tie for second
place. The second place finish for marks the second time in his
career that the sophomore played his way into a tournament's top
five.
Amongst the players in Warner's four-way tie was Saturday's
leader, Susquehanna's Mitch Mercer. Mercer gave back four strokes
on Sunday, while New York University's Mike Leibfried climbed to
the top of the field of 78 golfers with Sunday's low-round at 73
strokes.
The Diplomats' Danny Liebowitz and Jeremy Rubin joined Warner in
the tournament's top 30. Liebowitz shaved five shots from his
Saturday 83 to break into the top 20 for the 13th time in 16 career
events. He finished in an eight-way tie for 18th with a two-round
total of 161. Rubin gave back four shots on Sunday with an 83 for a
162 on the tournament. He tied with three other golfers for 27th
place.
Brendan Mohler (84-82-166) finished in a four-way tie for 39th
place, while Kevin Goserud (88-88-176) tied with Keystone's Jeffrey
Wilbur for 66th place.
Wesley won the tournament with a 621, followed by Susquehanna in
second, one stroke behind. The University of Rochester was four
strokes off of Susquehanna and ten shots in front of fourth place
NYU. NYU finished three strokes ahead of F&M. St. John Fisher
entered Sunday with a two stroke lead on the Diplomats, but
plummeted to eighth after adding 16 shots to their Saturday total.
McDaniel finished in sixth, ten shots behind the Diplomats.

Invitational.
