Warner Wins Falcon Classic

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Cameron Warner shot a stroke under par to capture the Messiah College Falcon Classic. The sophomore's 71 paced F&M to a second place finish in the 15-team tournament.

Warner shot 71 on the par 72, 6,615-yard course at Blue Ridge Country Club. He edged out Messiah's Matt Burkhart and Gettysburg's Reid Sessa, each of whom shot par for second place.  Burkhart led his team to a 309 for the team trophy. Warner's squad was three strokes behind, and three strokes ahead of Centennial rival, Dickinson.

The Diplomats' Harry Russell joined Warner in the field's top ten. Russell shot 77 to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place.  Messiah's Corey Wenger was in that mix.  The Falcon's Dan Wort sat alone in 13^th, and provided the bulk of the difference in the team scoring.

Both F&M and Messiah landed a golfer in a three-way tie at 17^th place. The Diplomats' Jeremy Rubin and the Falcons' Ben Horst shot 81. Rob Moriarty rounded out F&M's scoring with an 83 to tie for 24^th place, while Steve Colalillio shot 85 to tie for 32^nd in the 73 golfer field.

The tournament was the final round for F&M prior to this weekend's Centennial Conference Championship Tournament. The two-day, 54-hole tournament gets underway on Saturday.
