REHOBETH BEACH, Del. – Playing in a field consisting
primarily of Division I golfers, Franklin & Marshall's
Cameron Warner shot a 73 for a tenth place finish at Monday's
Rehobeth Beach Fall Invitational, hosted by the University of
Pennsylvania. The event was scheduled for 36 holes on the course at
King's Creek Country Club, however, heavy rain on Monday
limited play to 18 holes.
Warner's 73 left the junior in a three-way tie for tenth
place and four strokes off of the medalist pace set by the
University of Maryland's Jon Popeck. For Warner, the
10th place finish marks the 10th top-ten
finish in his career. Popeck shot 69 to edge his teammate, Tom
Hanna. The Terps walked away with the team title owning a 14 stroke
advantage over Penn. The Diplomats finished in 12th
place in the field of 13 teams.
Warner was the only F&M golfer to finish in the top 50.
Danny Liebowitz shot 82 to tie for 56th place. Brendan Mohler carded an 84 to tie for 60th. Jeremy Rubin
rounded out F&M's scoring four with an 85 for
63rd place, while Jin Hwang posted an 87 for
68th in the field of 72.
The Diplomats return to action on Thursday at Messiah's
Fall Invitational.
