GLEN ALLEN, Va. -- Robert Svigals shot a 71 on Sunday to capture the Ted Keller Memorial Tournament by five strokes. The win was the first for the freshmen in his collegiate career as he paced Franklin & Marshall to a second place finish in the 13-team tournament. The Diplomats have won three tournament titles and picked up a second place finish in the fall portion of their 2011-12 schedule.
Svigals added one stroke to his Saturday round of 70 to finish three strokes under par (141) at the Hinting Hawk Golf Course. The finish is almost seven strokes off his season average of 78.
Cameron Warner came in five strokes better than his Saturday round with a 75. Warner finished in with a 155 and tied for 23rd place. Dave Gilbert (75-82-157) and Jeremy Rubin (77-80-157) tied for 28th place. Kevin Goserud carded 90 on the day to finish at 164.
Hampden-Sydney took the team title with a 601 followed by F&M at 604. Averett finished third with 611 and Ferrum (20) and Washington and Lee (621) took fourth and fifth place respectively.
F&M returns to action this weekend at the McDaniel Fall Invitational.
