AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Franklin & Marshall picked up a double-header sweep over Lawrence in non-conference baseball action at the Russ Matt Invitational on Tuesday.  The Diplomats dominated in the first game with a 12-0 victory and picked up a 5-4 extra innings victory in the second contest. F&M improved its record to 5-5 on the season.

Eric Herbst pitched a complete game shutout in the first contest. Herbst gave up just three hits in seven innings of work. Eric Bornstein hit a gran slam, putting four runs across the plate.

Michael Morgenstern pitched three innings in relief in the nightcap to earn the victory. Morgenstern gave up just one run on the mound. Mike Amabile knocked in the game-winning run with a triple in the top of the seventh.

F&M will take Wednesday off before hitting the diamond on Thursday with a double-header against Hamilton.
