MOOSIC, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team finished fifth in the field of 11 at the 14th annual Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational at Glenmaura National Golf Club. The Diplomats turned in a 313 for the final 18 holes, leaving F&M with a 36-hole total of 625. F&M finished four strokes behind Susquehanna and Elizabethtown, who tied for third with scores of 620.
The University of Scranton won the tournament. The Royals shot a four-score total of 303 today to end up tied with McDaniel College with a 36-hole total of 608. The Green Terror forced a playoff by shooting a 302 today. In a 4-score, cumulative playoff that took place on the par-4, 327-yard 18th hole, Scranton shot a three-under-par 13, which included three birdies, to win its first-ever Glenmaura title.
Elizabethtown's Geoffrey Quinque and McDaniel's Greg Bowman both shot 147 (+5). Quinque captured the medalist honors on a match of the scorecards. Dave Gilbert finished in a four-way tie for ninth place with a two-round total of 153 (77+76) to pace F&M. The field featured 55 golfers.
Cameron Warner posted a 157 (79+78) to finish in a four-way tie for 21st place, while Kevin Goserud also landed in the top 25 with a 158. He gave back four shots on his Sunday 81. Jin Hwang ended his tournament in a three-way tie for 31st with a 162 (79+83). Zach Bereznak shaved ten strokes from his Sunday 88 to wrap up a 166 and 39th place.
The Diplomats return to action on Friday at the Rochester Invitational at Oak Hill Country Club.
