HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team is tied for 31st after the first round of the NCAA Championships. F&M finished 35 over par in the 41 team championship at the Mission Inn Resort & Club. The Diplomats shot a 323 on the par 72, 6,926-yard El Campeon Course while Oglethrope finished at three under to lead the field with 285.
Cameron Warner led the way for F&M coming in seven over with 79. Warner is tied for 109th in the 209 player field after a difficult front nine. The senior carded a six over on the first nine holes, but improved on the back nine with a one over 38.
Anthony Maccaglia from Oglethrope and Claremont Mudd Scripps' Brad Shigezawa are on top of the leaderboard with a four under 68.
Kevin Goserud and Robert Svigals both finished nine over with 81. Goserud was consistent throughout with a four over on the front and a five over on the back nine. Svigals shot 41 (+6) on the first nine and shaved three strokes off to finish with a 40 (+3) on the back.
Danny Liebowitz finished with an 82 (+10) and Brendan Mohler carded 83 (+11).
F&M will continue play on the Las Colinas Course tomorrow.
