2014 Diplomats
F&M returns a core nucleus from last year's squad that finished second at the conference tournament. The Diplomats brought in a strong class of freshmen, with two expected to contribute immediately, and combined with last year's returners, winning the CC crown for the fifth time in six years looks promising for F&M this season.
Key Contributors
Junior Robert Svigals headlines the group of returners this season. Svigals had three top-10 performances last year, including a ninth-place finish in the CC Championship and will look to continue that pace this year. Sophomore Daniel Furman will be in the top five as well with two top-10 performances this past fall. Freshmen Brad Lankler and Stephen Colodny will also play in the F&M five this year. Lankler (75.6) and Colodny (76.7) were the top two for the Diplomats this past fall.
The fifth spot will be up for grabs with a host of Diplomats looking to take the spot. Seniors Dave Gilbert, Jin Hwang and Jesse Zorfas have the experience and will look to contribute. Juniors Henry Richards and Maxwell O'Connor along with the freshmen class that includes Steve Altieri, Jared Brown, Kyle Huntzberry, Lucas Ludgate and Jon Meissner will all battle for the final spot this season.
Schedule
Highlighting the F&M schedule this year is the Hershey Cup on Apr. 6th-7th held at the Hershey Country Club. The event features many ranked teams from the Mid-Atlantic region and should be a good benchmark for F&M this season. The McDaniel Invite this weekend will help F&M gage their talent amongst many CC schools in preparation for the CC Championship, taking place at the end of April this year. The championship will start on Apr. 26, and will be played over three days at the Dupont Country Club.
