GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team shot 320 and currently sits in the 33rd spot at the 2014 NCAA Men's Golf Championship hosted at the Grandover Resort Course. Schreiner University came in at 285 to lead the 41-team Tournament.
Brad Lankler led the way for F&M with a three-over 75 on the par-72, 7210-yard East Course. Lankler is currently tied at 62nd in the field of 209 golfers with Brian Burt from Hampden-Sydney leading the way at five-under 67. Lankler started out slow with a 39 (+3) on the back nine before coming in at an even 36 on the front.
Daniel Furman came in at 79 (+7) with a 43 (+6) on the back and a 37 (+1) on the front while Stephen Colodny finished at a nine-over 81. Colodny started out with a 41 (+5) before shaving off a stroke to finish at 40 (+4) for the Diplomats.
Dave Gilbert carded an 85 (+15) and Robert Svigals rounded out the F&M five with an 87.
F&M's first golfer is scheduled to tee off at 8:20 a.m. tomorrow on the first hole of the West Course in the second round of the tournament.
