LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 13 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team was outmatched by No. 12 Williams on Friday evening at the Mayser Center, falling by an 8-1 score. The loss dropped the Diplomats' record to 4-5 on the season, while the Ephs improved to 6-4.

The lone win in the contest for F&M came from the Diplomats' number one player in Sherilyn Yang. The freshman top-of-the-order competitor swept her opponent by an 11-6, 12-10, 11-9 tally. Dulakshi Elikewela battled at No. 3, taking a 2-1 lead into the fourth game but dropped the last two frames en route to a 3-2 setback (11-3, 9-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-5).

Cris Margaret Frias Gonzalez staved off a sweep at the No. 8 spot by pulling off a 12-10 victory in the third game, but came up short in a 3-1 defeat (11-6, 11-6, 10-12, 11-5).

F&M returns to the court Saturday, Jan. 24 to take part in the Middlebury Round Robin. The Diplomats are set to compete in five contests over the course of two days, including a trio of matches on Saturday, beginning with No. 15 Bates at 9:00 a.m.
