WASHINGTON, D.C. – The No. 14 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team concluded its 2014-15 regular season on Friday evening with a 9-0 loss to No. 8 George Washington. The defeated dropped the Diplomats' record to 9-7, while the Colonials improved to 7-6.
F&M will hope to remain in the top 16 of the rankings to ensure a place in the 2015 Kurtz Cup (B Division) for the Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships, which are hosted by Harvard and set to being next Friday. George Washington was dominant on Friday, earning shutouts in seven of the nine matchups in the competition. Emily Caldwell forced her opponent to four games at No. 3 after taking the first frame, but eventually fell by a 3-1 score (11-13, 11-3, 11-7, 11-7).
Andreina Benedith also battled in her matchup at the No. 4 spot on the ladder, earning a 12-10 victory in her opening game, but dropped the last three en route to a 3-1 defeat.
