The Diplomats take on Rutgers-Newark and Messiah this week in non-conference play. Against Rutgers-Newark, the series is tied at 1-1, while Messiah has the upper hand at 9-6, including wins in two straight.

On Saturday, Centennial Conference (CC) action continues against Muhlenberg. F&M leads the series at 66-47, however the Mules have won three consecutive contests.

Scouting the Opponents: Ursinus (12-4) enters competition ranked fifth in the CC with a .294 batting average, while its ERA of 2.89 is good for second. Rutgers-Newark is batting at just a .275 clip, with its staff combining for a 6.15 ERA. Messiah is hitting for a .274 team average and its pitching staff has a 5.02 ERA, while Muhlenberg's .266 batting average places ninth in the CC, along with its 5.16 ERA.

Last Week: F&M went 2-2 last week, splitting a pair of conference games with Gettysburg and Johns Hopkins. The Diplomats opened with a heartbreaking 3-2 loss in 13 innings against the Bullets on Wednesday, despite a two-run rally in the bottom of the ninth to force extras. F&M avenged the loss on Thursday with a 9-6 victory against Gettysburg, with starter Mack Glavin (3-1) earning the win and Luke Seib leading the offense with a 3-for-4 showing at the plate.
