Spring Break Trip | Winter Haven, Fla.

Series History: Franklin & Marshall continues non-conference competition on Tuesday, traveling to Elizabethtown for the 61st meeting between the two schools, dating back to the 1947 season. The Blue Jays hold a five-game winning streak, including a 7-2 win at Caplan on April 23. On Thursday, F&M travels to Washington to face off against Catholic in a makeup game, which was originally scheduled for last Saturday.

Spring break opens with a doubleheader against Endicott on Sunday, when the Diplomats head down to Winter Haven, Fla. for 10 games in a span of eight days. F&M is 4-1 all time against Endicott with the first meeting occurring in 2006.

Highlights of the trip include inaugural matchups with Ramapo, who is ranked No. 15 in the nation, on Tuesday and Bowdoin on Saturday. The trip concludes the following Sunday against Washington & Jefferson, who finished last season with a 29-17 record and took part in the NCAA Mideast Regional.

Last Week: A four-run first inning gave F&M a lead it would not relinquish as the Diplomats downed Messiah by a 7-3 score on Wednesday afternoon in their lone contest of the week.

Dan Marano paced the offense with a 3-for-5 day at the plate to go along with two RBIs and two runs scored. Matt Mezansky tallied a 1-for-3 line and notched three RBIs with one run scored. Adam Janney led Messiah with a 4-for-5 effort as the Falcons outhit the Diplomats by an 11-8 margin.

Freshman Jonathan Pesantez (1-0) earned his first career win in relief of starter Sam Ackerman. Pesantez came out of the 'pen to toss three scoreless innings and strike out a pair while Ackerman threw the opening three frames and was charged with two earned. Relievers Daniel Blugis and Andrew Mascis also recorded shutout frames for F&M.

Milestone Watch: Closer Andrew Mascis set the program's single-season record with nine saves during his freshman campaign and entered the year just one shy of F&M baseball's all-time mark held by Dan Tischler '08.

With his three-RBI effort against Messiah, Mezansky is now tied for 10th on the program career list with 75. A senior captain at third base, Mezansky is quickly approaching the top 10 list for a number of other program records, including hits (132) and doubles (25).

Top of the CC Class: David Iacobucci's three doubles are tied for fifth in the CC.
