PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Franklin & Marshall men's golf earned its third win of the year and second of the spring season on Saturday, winning Rochester's Fred Kravetz Invitational. The event came down to a tiebreaker, where the Diplomats beat out McDaniel after both teams finished with a score of 617.

Ben Mitchell carded the lowest number for the Diplomats, finishing with a 10-over 153 (77-76) to tie for fourth on the 6,830-yard, par-72 course at Irondequoit Country Club.

Stephen Colodny's 154 (76-78) was good for a tie for sixth, followed by Jon Meissner in a tie for 12th at 158 (82-76) and Brad Lankler in a tie for 14th at 159 (77-82).

However, it was Justin Lankler's 163 (88-75) that proved to be the difference for F&M. The tiebreaker was determined by the second-round score of the fifth-place player on both teams, with J. Lankler's 75 besting a 79 by McDaniel's Brandon Vance.

Individual honors went to Christian Garruppo of McDaniel, who fired a five-over 148 (74-74) to win by three strokes.

The Diplomats return to action on Sunday, competing in the Messiah Invitational for a two-day tune-up before the Centennial Conference Championships from April 28-30.
