Diplomats Battle Back to Win Ted Keller Invite; Lankler Wins Medalists Honor

ASHLAND, Va. – Franklin & Marshall shaved seven strokes off its day one total of 298 to move up a spot and win the team title at Ted Keller Memorial Invitational. The Diplomats finished at 583 (298-285), while Averett was second at 601 (306-295), followed by Randolph-Macon with 603 (296-307). The two-day tournament was hosted by Randolph-Macon on the par-71, 6,679-yard Hanover Country Club course. 

Jared Berlin and Justin Lankler tied for first after two rounds in the field of 55-players. However, Lankler recorded a birdie on the first playoff to pick up medalist honors. He ended with a two-day of 144 after firing rounds of 71 and 73 and picking up five birdies over two rounds. 

Lankler had a consistent 72 on both days for a 144 with five birdies. Seiichiro Nakai had the best improvement of the tournament, taking nine strokes off his day one 78 and shooting a 69 for a 147 and tied for fourth. Kevin McGloin also improved drastically, coming in six under Monday's 77 with a 71 today and tied for eighth at 148. Charles Mitchell had rounds of 85 and 75 and ended at 157 for 25th place. 

F&M returns to action on Saturday at the two-day Ursinus Invitational held at the Patriots Glen Golf Club.
