F&M Takes Fourth at Montgomery Cup

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Jas Fuhrer led the way for Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team, tying for eighth place with an eight-over 148 (71-77) across two days at the Montgomery Cup, hosted by Marymount at the Concord Country Club.  

As a team, the Diplomats shot a two-day total of 47-over 607 (302-305), five strokes behind Mary Washington for a top-three finish and five strokes ahead of Swarthmore for fifth. Allegheny College took home the top team finish at 35-over 595 (306-289), edging out Rosemont by just two strokes.

Rosemont's Nathan Moore was the top individual finisher, ending the contest with an even-par 140 (68-72).

Troy Kelleher finished in a tie for 16th place overall with a total of 12-over 152 (76-76). Stephen Nicholas finished with a total of 16-over 156 (83-73), good for a tie for 24th after a strong day two.

Tyler Wassell shot 19-over 159 (80-79), tied for 31st, while R.J. Pozzuto finished 34th with a 20-over 160 (75-85).

The Diplomats return to action when they host the F&M Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club, beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14th.
