HERSHEY, Pa. – Steve Nicholas placed first to lead Franklin & Marshall to a fourth finish at the Hershey Cup hosted by Rochester at the Hershey Country Club. The Diplomats led the tournament through the first round at 294, but added 24 strokes in the final round with a 318 for a 612-tournament total. Wittenberg was first at 592, followed by Piedmont (610) and Carnegie Mellon (610).
Top Finishes
- Steve Nicholas was consistent with an even-71 on both days on the par-71, 6,605-yard course. He totaled five birdies to pick up his first tournament win.
- Seiichiro Nakai tied for 18th, carding 75 in round one, before coming in at 79 for a 159. He had two birdies yesterday and picked up four more in the final day.
- Jared Berlin was is the mix on day, just one stroke off par with a 71, but struggled in the final round, adding 11-strokes for an 83 and ended the tournament tied for 20th at 155.
- Tyler Wassell tied for 45th out of 84 golfers with rounds of 76 and 83 for a 159.
- Justin Lankler rounded out the F&M-five with a 55th place finish at 162.
- Ian Murray was playing as an individual and had rounds of 87 and 88 for a 175.
- Jordan Hubal also played as an induvial and ended at 165, after recording scores of 83 and 82.
