ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team finished tied with Swarthmore for fourth place out of 18 teams at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic. The Diplomats shot a two-day total of 33-over 609 (303-306), just three strokes behind Goucher for a top-three finish and 17 strokes behind the host, McDaniel, for the team lead at The Bridges Golf Club.
Jas Fuhrer and Troy Kelleher were F&M's top performers, finishing tied for 10th with a two-day total of seven-over 151, just five strokes behind McDaniel's Kevin Keane for the top individual finish at two-over 146.
Stephen Nicholas shot an eight-over 152 in a tie for 18th place overall.
R.J. Pozzuto finished tied for 41st with an 11-over 155. Kevin McGloin shot a 17-over 161 to tie for 62nd.
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday when they begin the two-day Montgomery Cup, hosted by Marymount, at the Concord Country Club.
