Series History

Franklin & Marshall is set to take on Messiah for the 22nd time in program history, continuing a non-conference tradition that dates back to the 1969 season. Five out of the last seven matchups have gone the Diplomats way, but the Falcons prevailed last season in Lancaster by a narrow 11-9 margin in early April.

Saturday marks the 2020 home opener for F&M as the Diplomats are slated to take on Elmira – a member of the Empire Eight conference and hailing from New York -  for the first time in program history.

Last Week

Strong pitching performances keyed a 1-1 split against William Paterson on Saturday. Jonathan Cole provided seven shutout innings in game one and Don DiLoreto (2-0) tossed two scoreless frames for a 3-2 win in the opener. Dan Baroff provided the go-ahead run with ninth-inning ground-rule double RBI knock.

Matt Devlin took the mound for game two and struck out nine batters in seven shutout frames but the Diplomats fell by a tough 1-0 tally. Recap

Milestones to Watch

J.J. Freeman has totaled seven home runs in his career, a mark which places tied for 10th on the program's all-time list. Scott Haft '05 leads with 14.

Jonathan Cole's 14 wins are tied for 10th. Ted Serro '06 tops the list with 20. Cole is climbing the strikeout list as well and currently has 174 in his career, which is good for sixth. Todd Marshall '92 tops the list with 220.

100 Hit Club
