Sculti Leads Men's Golf After Day One at Battle of the Burg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team is right in the mix after Day 1 at the Battle of the Burg Tournament hosted at the Hanover Country Club. The Diplomats posted a team score of 297 (+13) on the first day of the event hosted by Gettysburg as they sit in third place overall, just five shots off the pace of Stevens. The host Bullets are just one shot ahead of the Diplomats heading into the final round on Monday.

Dominic Sculti was the low round of the day for F&M as he shot a one-over (72) round and sits in fourth place. Chris Magliocco was just behind him with a score of 73 (+2) as he is tied for sixth in the field. Reigning Centennnial Conference Player of the Week Jas Fuhrer and Roy Anderson both turned in cards of 76 on Sunday, while Michael Gallagher posted an opening round score of 83.

Franklin & Marshall leads the field in both par-3 (+7) and par-5 (-3) scoring after 18 holes. Both Fuhrer and Magliocco went even par on the par-3 holes on Sunday. Sculti is tied for the tournament lead in par-5 scoring, posting a two-under on those holes. Anderson and Magliocco are also in the red for the tournament on the longest holes.

The Diplomats will look to chase down Stevens and Gettysburg on Monday with the final 18 holes of this event. Monday's action resumes at 12 p.m. with a shotgun start.
