ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team is sitting in a tie for third place after day one of the 36-hole Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic. The Diplomats posted a 299 team score and are just five shots off the pace of first-place Gettysburg heading into Sunday's final round.
Roy Anderson was the Diplomats' low score of the day as he went two-under on the par-72 course and is just one shot behind York's Riley Roufe for the individual lead. Anderson's round was the best of his young collegiate career, just topping his F&M debut when he went one-under at the only round of the Dickinson Fall Invitational.
Jas Fuhrer (75) and Michael Gallagher (76) are currently tied for 13th and 19th, respectively, in the tightly contested field. Shane Lawler came in with a round of 78 for the Diplomats' fourth score of the day while Chris Magliocco shot an opening round 80.
The second day of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic will resume on Sunday at the The Bridges Golf Club.
