CARLISLE, Pa. – Three players went under par as the Franklin & Marshall men's golf team made its fall debut at the Dickinson Invitational on Saturday at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course. The Diplomats posted a team score of 282 (-6) to place third overall in the competitive field of 13 teams.

Junior Michael Gallagher finished as the tournament's co-runner-up as he went under par for the first time in his collegiate career. He finished with a round of 68 (-4) on the par-72 course. Gallagher has now placed in the top five during five of his eight career collegiate events.

Dominic Sculti (-2) and Roy Anderson (-1) also posted scores in the red. Just like his teammate and member of the Centennial Conference Championship team from this past spring, Sculti broke par for the first time in his F&M career. The sophomore placed seventh overall in the field. First-year certainly had quite the debut with a 13th place showing after turning in a round of 71.

Matt Durnan (+1) and Jas Fuhrer (+2) also had strong season debuts for the Diplomats. Durnan made his collegiate debut with a 20th place showing in the field. Fuhrer's round was the third-best of the junior's career.

Saturday's event marked the first of six tournaments that Franklin & Marshall will compete in during the fall portion of the team's schedule. The Diplomats will return to the links this Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25 as part of the 36-hole Knights Invitational hosted by Arcadia at the Golden Oaks Golf Club.
