Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 8 Franklin & Marshall men's lacrosse team kept its undefeated season going with a 13-9 victory over Rhodes on Sunday morning. The Diplomats (6-0) scored the first five goals of the contest before holding the Lynx at bay for the remainder of the afternoon.
Will DeMuth scored four goals to led the Diplomats, while Blake Target also recorded a hat trick. Will Mollihan and Kai Kelly additionally registered multiple goals during the victory. Sage Garito was strong in goal, stopping 13 of the 22 shots on goal that he faced.
After F&M's early rush of goals, Rhodes did tie the game at five-all before the Diplomats doubled up their opponents, 8-4, over the final 43-minutes plus of regulation time. Colin Falk and Kyle Craig both had strong outings on defense, with five and four ground balls each. Connor Helm totaled a team-high six ground balls after winning eight of his 11 face-offs at the X.
The Diplomats finished the game with a commanding 45-27 advantage in shots to go along with a 38-21 advantage in ground balls.
Men's lacrosse will now enjoy a few days of training in the Sunshine State before returning to Lancaster on Tuesday night. When the team does return north, a pair of nationally-ranked opponents await in the Mustang Classic as F&M will clash with No. 6 York (Pa.) (Friday, 6 p.m.) and No. 16 Stevenson (Saturday, 8:30 p.m.) this upcoming weekend.
