FLANDERS, N.J. -- Franklin & Marshall men's golf finished the weekend with a second place finish at the Garden State Collegiate Classic, hosted by Drew. The Diplomats ended up with a three of the top six golfers on the course, as Michael Gallagher ended in second, Jas Fuhrer in third, and Shane Lawler in a tie for fourth.

Stevens brought home the team championship with a 589 total, paced by medalist Eddie Sot who shot a final round 68 after a four-over first to end at even par.

The Diplomats shot 599 on the weekend, finishing almost even with their first round score (299) on Saturday with a 300 on Sunday. Their 300 tied for the best rounds of the day with the eventual winner Stevens, which beat the rest of the field by seven strokes.

Gallagher continued his quality stretch of play with a final round 73 to finish +3 on the weekend. After a pair of bogies in the first four holes, the junior shot one-under the rest of the way to finish strong.

Fuhrer improved on his Saturday performance by two strokes to finish just behind Gallagher in sole possession of third place in the tourney. A birdie on 18 solidified his standing on the leaderboard with a final day 73.

Lawler kept pace with his teammates on the front nine, shooting an even-par through the first half of play. The first-year eventually settled for a four-over 76 on Sunday, finishing in a tie for fourth.

Dominic Sculti matched his 78 from Saturday in the final round, ultimately finishing in a tie for 14th with his consistent weekend.

F&M now returns home to host the F&M Invitational on Monday, April 18 at Bent Creek Country Club.
