LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team displayed a solid showing at its home invite as F&M's "B" team came away with a team score of 296 to place first in the F&M Spring Invitational, held at Bent Creek Country Club Monday afternoon. The Franklin & Marshall "A" team ended the day with a team score of 301 to place third in the field of 13 teams.
Four Diplomats placed within the top 10 in the field of 68 competitors, led by Jas Fuhrer's one-under par to finish second in the field. Michael Gallagher was the top scorer on the "B" team as he ended the round with a 71, finishing in third place. Jack Cooley also posted a top 10 finish from the "B" team as he ended with a final score of one-over par to finish tied for fourth. Roy Anderson of F&M's "A" team carded four-over par to place tied for 10th.
Franklin & Marshall's "B" team had four more golfers finish within the top 25 as Matt Durnan and Simon Murray each shot six-over to place tied for 16th. Matt Tressler shot a 79 to finish tied for 22nd, followed by Chris Magliocco carding an 80 to end the round tied for 25th. Rounding out the F&M "B" team was Will Livingston placing tied for 31st with a score of 82.
Shane Lawler of the Diplomats' "A" team finished just outside of the top 10 as he shot five-over par to place tied for 12th. Chris Dorey and Dylan Gallagher both shot an 80 to end the day tied for 25th.
Franklin & Marshall looks to continue the momentum into the weekend as it travels to Penn National Golf Club to compete in the Gettysburg Spring Shootout starting on Saturday.
