FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team posted a second-round score of 302 to finish with a total score of 603 – securing a win at the Gettysburg Spring Shootout Sunday afternoon at Penn National Golf Club. F&M was in a battle with Swarthmore for the top spot after day one, but the Diplomats were able to overtake the Garnet by one stroke to win the tournament.
Dylan Gallagher led the Diplomats in the individual standings as he ended the second round with a 75 to place sixth in the field of 53 golfers. Jas Fuhrer shot a 77 on day two to end the tournament tied for 11th. Jack Cooley improved by two strokes to shoot a 76 in the second round, placing 15th. Shane Lawler had a great second round – carding a 74 to end the tournament tied for 23rd. Michael Gallagher shot an 87 on day two of the tournament to finish tied for 26th.
It is the second tournament victory for the Diplomats this spring as the team is coming off a victory at their home invitational last Monday.
Franklin & Marshall enters the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships with momentum as the three-day tournament tees off on Friday at Waynesboro Country Club.
