WAYNESBORO, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team placed two in the top five of the individual standings, while shooting 313 as a team to end Friday's round of the Centennial Conference Championship in second place out of the seven teams competing. The only team F&M trails after 18 holes is Gettysburg as the Bullets shot 311 as a team to lead the tournament.
Jas Fuhrer and Shane Lawler both shot four-over par to tie each other for fourth place in the field of 35 golfers. Dylan Gallagher ended the round seven-over par to place tied for 14th. Jack Cooley closely followed with a day-one score of 81 to finish tied for 16th. Chris Dorey rounded out the Diplomats, carding an 83 to end the day tied for 24th.
In order, the Diplomats lead Dickinson (314), Swarthmore (315), McDaniel (319), Muhlenberg (342), and Ursinus (347) after 18 holes at Waynesboro Country Club.
With inclement weather in Sunday's forecast, the remaining 36 holes will now be played on Saturday. Round 2 will be a shotgun start beginning at 9:00 a.m. The final round will be played Saturday afternoon.
