HERSHEY, Pa. – Two Diplomats posted top-five finishes in the individual standings to bring Franklin & Marshall men's golf fifth place in the team standings on day two of the Hershey Cup, held at Hershey Country Club. F&M as a team ended the day with a score of 620 to finish fifth out of the 15 teams in the field. Rensselaer Polytechnic tallied a team score of 608 to win the event.
Shane Lawler led the Diplomats by shooting the day's second-lowest score, 71, to place fourth in the individual standings in the tournament. Yesterday's team-leader, Dylan Gallagher, shot a 79 to total 152 for the weekend to finish tied for fifth place in the field of 81 competitors.
Jas Fuhrer ended the day with a 78 to finish the weekend with a score of 153 to place tied for 11th. Roy Anderson and Jack Cooley rounded out the Diplomats, ending with second round scores of 82 and 79, respectively.
Unfortunately, the Diplomats took a hit after day one as one member signed an incorrect scorecard – disqualifying his first-round score.
Franklin & Marshall now prepares for the Dickinson Invitational at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course on Saturday, April 15.
