NICHOLASVILLE, Ky.- The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team gets set to make its 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament as it tees off at Keene Trace Golf Club Tuesday morning for the first round of four at the national tournament. Last season, the Diplomats finished in 18th place in the NCAA Tournament.

Franklin & Marshall sends the team of Jack Cooley, Chris Dorey, Jas Fuhrer, Dylan Gallagher, and Shane Lawler to the par-72, 6,701-yard Keene Run course and the par-72, 6,974-yard Champion Trace course. This group posted an overall score of 876 in three rounds at the CC Championship to claim the program's 13th conference title.

Fuhrer leads the Diplomats as he paced the way for F&M's conference championship performance by winning the individual field, shooting three-under par at Waynesboro Country Club. Fuhrer currently boasts the team's lowest season average at 73.5. The senior also brings experience in the NCAA Tournament as he competed in F&M's last two tournament appearances. Fuhrer fell below the cut line in the 2021 NCAA Tournament before shooting 307 in four rounds at the 2022 tournament.

Lawler closely follows Fuhrer's season average, shooting 74 in 20 rounds this season. Lawler holds the team's two-lowest rounds this season. The sophomore shot a 67 on the first day of the George Cangero Invitational (Sept. 17) before carding a 66 in F&M's win at its home invitational in the fall (Oct. 17). Lawler also holds NCAA Tournament experience as he shot a 311 in four rounds at last year's event.

Gallagher has averaged a score of 74.9 this year for the fourth-lowest on F&M. Gallagher shot a 70 in the opening round of the George Cangero Invitational (Sept. 17) before tallying a 69 in the third round of the CC Championships (Apr. 29).

Dorey sports a season average of 75.4 while Cooley averages 75.5 this season. Both Diplomats have shot a season-low score of 70 this season, with Cooley tallying a 70 in the third round of the conference tournament. Dorey carded his season-low in the second round of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic (Oct. 2).
