ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team put together a strong showing in its spring opener as the Diplomats placed second out of the field of 18 teams competing in the McDaniel Spring Invitational Sunday afternoon at The Bridges Golf Club. Originally a two-round tournament, Saturday's round was canceled due to rain. F&M as a team scored a 300 on Sunday to finish in second – one stroke shy of tying the tournament winner Swarthmore.

The Diplomats had three of their five golfers place in the top 10 of the individual standings. Roy Anderson led F&M, shooting one-over par to finish tied for third place in the field of 92 competitors. Shane Lawler followed with a score of two-over par to place in sixth. Max Silverman came up a stroke shy of tying Lawler as he finished the tournament in seventh place. Dominic Sculti shot six-over par to finish tied for 17th in the field. Matt Tressler carded a score of seven-over par to end the day tied for 30th.

Franklin & Marshall now prepares to compete in the Pennsylvania Classic, starting Friday at 1:00 p.m.
