STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team finished up the first round of the Pennsylvania Classic in second place after recording a team score of 291 Friday afternoon. The Diplomats only trail Allegheny by two strokes through 18 holes. F&M also had all five members place in the top 15 in the individual standings.
Max Silverman led the Diplomats with a 71 score to finish the round even-par and tied for third in the field of 103 competitors.
Shane Lawler ended the day one-over par to finish in seventh, while
David McNamara carded two-over par to place in eighth.
Roy Anderson and
Dominic Sculti each scored four-over par after 18 holes to finish the round tied for 14th.
The Diplomats will look to make a final push on Saturday during the final round of the Pennsylvania Classic. The closing round is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
