BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team ended the third round of the NCAA Championship with a team score of 300 (12-over par) to bring its tournament score to 884 (20-over par) – placing the Diplomats in 18th. Carnegie Mellon currently holds the team lead in the tournament, with an overall score of 849 (15-under par).
Roy Anderson remains in the top spot for the Diplomats after carding a 73 to place himself in a tie for 21th. Anderson recorded two eagles, three birdies, and 10 pars on day three to maintain an overall score of two-under par for the tournament. The junior becomes one of 12 golfers to record at least two eagles in the tournament so far.
Max Silverman and
Shane Lawler also registered 73's on Thursday. Silverman currently sits in a tie for 44th, while Lawler shares a tie for 60th.
Jack Cooley and
Dominic Sculti rounded out the Diplomats with each golfer shooting an 81 in the third round. Cooley is tied for 90th, while Sculti ended the day in a tie for 95th.
Franklin & Marshall will look to finish the week on a high note when the final round of the NCAA Championship starts Friday morning. Sculti will tee-off at 9:55 a.m. PST and is followed by Cooley (10:05 a.m. PST), Lawler (10:15 a.m. PST), Silverman (10:25 a.m. PST), and Anderson (10:35 a.m. PST).
