LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall field hockey team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024 season. The Diplomats get set to host eight home games at Tylus Field and play nine away contests with their sights being set on a third-consecutive Centennial Conference Tournament appearance and the program's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2019.
F&M opens its 2024 slate with two non-conference games on the road against Susquehanna on August 30 and SUNY Cortland on September 1. The Diplomats then host their home opener against Christopher Newport on September 7 before welcoming Elizabethtown on September 11. Franklin & Marshall then hits the road to take on Montclair State (Sept. 14) and Alvernia (Sept. 18) before returning to Tylus Field to host Washington and Lee on September 21.
The Diplomats kick off their Centennial Conference schedule with a road game at Washington College on September 28 before hosting a two-game homestand against Dickinson (Oct. 2) and Bryn Mawr (Oct. 5). F&M travels to play road games at Gettysburg (Oct. 9) and Muhlenberg (Oct. 12), followed by a home contest against Ursinus on October 16. After the Diplomats play a road game against Haverford on October 19, F&M will welcome Swarthmore to Tylus Field on October 23. Franklin & Marshall concludes the regular season with a road game at McDaniel on October 30 and a home game against Johns Hopkins on November 2.
The Centennial Conference Tournament will start on November 5 and run to November 9. The NCAA Division III Tournament follows with the first round being hosted on November 13. The NCAA Championship will be played on November 24 in Lexington, Virginia.
In total, F&M will take on four NCAA qualifiers from last season, with three of those teams advancing beyond the first round – including the National Championship runner-up Johns Hopkins.
Ranked as high as No. 19 in the nation last year, Franklin & Marshall concluded the season with an overall record of 11-8 and a Centennial record of 8-2 – making it as far as the semifinal round of the Centennial Conference Tournament.
