ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team is in fourth place after day one of the McDaniel Spring Invitational held at The Bridges Golf Club. The Diplomats shot 314 (+26) as a team during the first of two rounds. Action will continue Sunday with the final 18 holes of the tournament.
Alex Gore is currently 10th in the individual standings after shooting an opening round 77 (+5). He closed particularly strong during the back nine as he was an even-par during that stretch after starting that late rally with a birdie on the eighth hole.
The team's top four all finished within one stroke of the F&M player in front of them. Oliver Clark is six-over after recording three birdies during the back nine of his round. Roy Anderson (79) and Max Silverman (80) turned in the team's third and fourth lowest rounds, with Quishi He turning in an opening round card of 83.
Franklin & Marshall is currently 10 shots off the pace of York (Pa.) who leads the team standings after an opening round 304 on Saturday. Centennial Conference foes Gettysburg (308) and Dickinson (313) hold the respective second and third positions in the field heading into Sunday's final round.
