WAYNESBORO, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team ended the second round of the Centennial Conference Men's Golf Championship in a tie for the lead with Gettysburg after posting the best team score on Saturday from the par-72, 6,595 yard Waynesboro Country Club course.
The Diplomats posted a 291 (+3) on Saturday, reducing a seven stroke deficit to Gettysburg at the start of the day. After starting the day with the lead, Swarthmore dropped to third with a Saturday team score of 308 (+20).Â
Following an eagle on the first hole, Quishi He posted a 73 (+1) for the day to finish the day in second place. His eagle on the first carried him to a +1 on the front nine, while he totaled three birdies on an even par back nine. He enters the final day a stroke back of the leaders.
Max Silverman followed a one-over round with an even par (72) performance, ending the round in a tie for fifth. He totaled three birdies and 11 pars, including a run of six-straight pars on the front nine and five straight pars to conclude the round.
Oliver Clark also posted a round of 72 following a +4 round on the first day. He totaled four birdies and was -2 on the back nine. Clark is 11th in the individual standings.Â
Roy Anderson followed a +3 round yesterday with a round of 74 (+2) to tie for 12th place. He was -1 on the front nine with three birdies and ten pars overall.Â
Shane Lawler recorded a 75 (+3), improving on a 77 in the first round to finish the second round in a tie for 16th. He was consistent across the round with a +1 front nine and +2 back nine with two birdies and 12 pars.
The Diplomats conclude the championship weekend tomorrow. Lawler has the first tee time at 8:51 a.m followed by Anderson (9:00 a.m), Clark (9:09 a.m.), Silverman (9:18 a.m.), and He (9:27 a.m).Â
