WAYNESBORO, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's golf team opened the 2025 Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship on Saturday by ending round one in third place.
Shuyi Sarah Wang had the best individual score on the team with an 85 (+13), tying for fifth place in the individual standings. She was consistent across the round, going +6 on the front nine and +7 on the back nine. Wang birdied on the par 5 14th hole.
Janire Egana Vela ended the day in 12th with a score of 90 (+18), while Riya Sood was a spot behind, totaling 95 strokes (+23). Claire Hill completed the team score for round one, posting 101 (+29). Emily Pollard is in a tie for 22nd with a score of 108 (+36).
The Diplomats ended round one in third place of the six teams competing with a score of 371 (+83).
F&M concludes the championship weekend with the final round on Sunday morning. Pollard will tee off first for F&M at 10:30 a.m followed by Sood (10:39 a.m), Hill (10:48 a.m.), Vela (10:57 a.m), and Wang in the final group (11:06 a.m.).
