HUMMELS WHARF, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's golf team saw two top-five finishers in the individual standings at Saturday's Susquehanna Fall Invitational from the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. Sarah Wang claimed third place, while Allie Tarreto earned fifth place. The Diplomats finished sixth in the team standings.
Wang posted a score of 76 (+6) to claim third place in the event. After starting on hole nine, she went two over par on her final nine holes including back-to-back birdies on the sixth and seventh holes. In her second collegiate tournament, Tarreto impressed with a fifth-placing finish, carding a 78 (+8). Tarreto tallied three birdies across the round. Riya Sood tied for 40th with a score of 98 (+28), while Sarah DesChamps completed the team score with a 107 (+37).
As a team, the Diplomats totaled 359 strokes (+79) to earn sixth from a field of 14 schools. Among Centennial Conference schools, the Diplomats were second best from the three teams entered.
The Diplomats host the Franklin & Marshall Fall Invitational from the Overlook Golf Course on Sunday, September 21.
