No. 38 Men's Tennis Readies for CC Tournament

LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 38 Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team prepares for the postseason, beginning on Thursday when the Diplomats hit the road to face No. 17 Haverford in the semifinal round of the Centennial Conference (CC) Tournament.

Thursday, May 1 - Haverford, Pa.
Semifinal - No. 3 Franklin & Marshall vs. No. 2 Haverford - 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 1 - Swarthmore, Pa.
Semifinal - No. 4 Washington College vs. No. 1 Swarthmore - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 3 – at Highest Remaining Seed
Championship - Semifinal Winners - 1:00 p.m.

CC Tournament History
Franklin & Marshall gears up for another postseason appearance as they travel to Haverford for a rematch of the 2023 CC First Round matchup, where the Fords defeated the Diplomats, 5-2. The Diplomats earned a win in the opening round of last year's tournament as they downed Gettysburg, 5-1. However, F&M fell to Swarthmore, 5-1, in the CC Semifinals. Franklin & Marshall's last win in the semifinal round came against Swarthmore, 5-2, during the 2010-11 season.

A Look at the Field 
No. 1 seed Swarthmore looks to repeat as CC Champions after winning its second conference title last season. No. 2 seed Haverford enters the tournament in search of its first-ever conference title, suffering only one conference loss during the regular season. No. 4 Washington College is 4-3 this season against CC opponents with the Shoremen looking to earn their first conference title since 2006.

In the Rankings
Swarthmore is ranked No. 8 in the nation, while Haverford is No. 17, and Franklin & Marshall is No. 38. Regionally, Swarthmore is No. 2, followed by Haverford at No. 5.

The Projected Lineup 
No. 1 Singles – Luke Brodsky
Brodsky holds an 8-13 record and 4-3 conference record in singles this season, competing primarily in the No. 1 match.
No. 2 Singles – Zac Ashtiani
Ashtiani is 7-14 overall and 5-2 in conference play competing in the No. 2 singles match this year.
No. 3 Singles – Samuel Donnelly
Donnelly is one-victory shy of tying the team-high in singles' wins with an 11-12 overall record and 5-2 conference record, competing in the No. 3 match.
No. 4 Singles – Soren Rudin-Aulenbach
Rudin-Aulenbach is tied for most singles' wins on the team this year, sporting an impressive 12-4 overall record and 4-2 CC record, playing in the No. 4 and No. 5 matches this season. The sophomore is 7-3 in his last 10 matches and is the only member of the men's tennis team to be named CC Player of the Week this year.
No. 5 Singles – Gonzalo Gentou
Gentou is 7-1 this year with a perfect 4-0 record in conference matches. The junior has won his last six matches and is 5-1 in the No. 5 match this season.
No. 6 Singles – Jack Gelman
Gelman posted an impressive 12-3 overall record and 5-1 CC record, competing in the No. 6 match during his rookie campaign. Gelman is 8-2 in his last 10 matches, while currently holding a six-match winning streak.

A Look at Doubles 
The No. 1 duo of Zac Ashtiani and Gonzalo Gentou enters the Centennial Tournament with a 10-12 overall record and 4-3 conference record, so far this season.

The pairing of Luke Brodsky and Soren Rudin-Aulenbach are 13-4 overall and 5-1 against conference opponents when competing at the No. 2 spot. The duo has also recorded a 7-3 record in their last 10 matches.

Tucker Chesman and Jack Gelman currently hold a 6-4 overall record and 3-2 CC record, so far this season.
