JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – The Franklin & Marshall men's golf team was the big mover on day two of the Camp Lejeunue Intercollegiate Tournament on Saturday. The Diplomats climbed five spots in the team standings after shooting 293 as a team. With that score, F&M is just six shots behind the team leaders heading into Sunday's final round at the Paradise Point Gold course.
Quishi He is the individual leader heading into Sunday after he backed up his opening round 69 with a score of 70 on Saturday. He is currently five-under during his first two rounds and leading the second-place golfers from Averett and Drew by two strokes. He was one-under on both the front and back nine during his second round, carding four birdies during his round. He now has 10 birdies through his first two rounds.
Max Silverman has also carded 10 birdies during his first two rounds after cutting eight strokes off his first-round score to finish at two-under (70) on Saturday. Six of those birdies came during Saturday's second round. Silverman is currently four-over and one shot ahead of teammate Oliver Clark who shot a four-over (76) during the second round of the tournament. Clark is currently tied for the team lead with He in par-five scoring as he is four-under for the tournament on those lengthy holes.
Roy Anderson shot 79 during Saturday's round for a two-day score of 151 to place him just outside the top 50 in the field of 120 players. Alex Gore was another Diplomat who improved his score on Saturday as he trimmed seven strokes from his opening round to finish with a second-round score of 77.
The 52nd Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Tournament will wrap up with Sunday's third and final round before the Diplomats will make their return from North Carolina.
