Men's Tennis Lands Three on CSC Academic All-District Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team placed three of its athletes on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Those athletes include Zac Ashtiani, Luke Brodsky and Gonzalo Gentou.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced at the end of the month. To be eligible for this honor a student-athlete most be at least a sophomore and have completed at least one full year at their current institution in addition to maintaining a 3.5 cumulative GPA while playing in at least half of the team's contests. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Zac Ashtiani was selected to the CSC Academic All-District team for the second-consecutive year. Ashtiani was named a second team All-Centennial Conference (CC) selection for both singles and doubles this season. The junior earned seven singles' wins while competing in the No. 2 match this year. Ashtiani also won 10 wins in doubles, competing in the No. 1 match.

Luke Brodsky earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District team for the first time in his career after an impressive season. Brodsky was named a first team All-CC honoree in singles, while also being recognized as a second team All-Centennial selection in doubles. The junior won eight matches in singles, competing in the No. 1 match. Brodsky also won 13 matches in doubles, playing in the No. 2 match this season.

Gonzalo Gentou landed on the CSC Academic All-District team for the second time in his career. Gentou earned second team all-conference for doubles with 10 wins this spring, competing in the No. 1 match. The senior also registered a 7-2 record in singles, playing a majority of his matches in the No.5 spot. In addition to his on-court performance, he was selected to the CC All-Sportsmanship team for the second time in his career.

Franklin & Marshall ended it season with an overall record of 9-11 and a CC record of 5-2, climbing the national rankings to as high as No. 36 in the nation.
