5/14/2025 3:29:00 PM

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team had two of its athletes recognized on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Those athletes include Rebecca Bellick and Mackenzie Sherman.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced at the end of the month. To be eligible for this honor a student-athlete most be at least a sophomore and have completed at least one full year at their current institution in addition to maintaining a 3.5 cumulative GPA while playing in at least half of the team's contests. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Rebecca Bellick recorded an impressive 12-2 record in singles this season, playing primarily in the No. 6 match. The junior also tallied a perfect 7-0 record against Centennial Conference (CC) opponents. In her only doubles match of the year, Bellick helped take down Connecticut College's No. 1 pairing, 6-4. In addition to on-court success, Bellick was named the CC All-Sportsmanship team for the first time in her career.

Mackenzie Sherman was named an All-CC honorable mention for doubles after earning seven wins, playing primarily in the No. 1 match. Sherman also earned 10 singles wins this season with six of those victories coming against CC opponents. The senior finished the 2025 campaign strong, winning eight of her last 10 singles matches.

Franklin & Marshall wrapped up its season with a 12-6 overall record and 6-2 CC record, highlighted by making its first-ever appearance in the CC Championship match.
