LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team saw plenty of action during its final weekend of the fall season as the Diplomats split the squad to give all players matches. On the home front, the Diplomats defeated Penn State Berks in a dual match, 6-0. On the road, the team competed at the Bloomsburg Invitational with the host Huskies and Mercyhurst.
The Diplomats dominated on their home courts with a 6-0 blanking of the Lions. In addition to the team shutout, F&M allowed just one game throughout 12 sets that were contested between singles and doubles. Kakie Colclough assumed the No. 1 position in both the singles and doubles lineup. She teamed up with Cynthia Li (who also won No. 4 singles) who notched her first career victories as a Diplomat. Emiliia Husieva and Ioanna Kyriakidou took the second doubles match, while winning their respective singles matches at No. 2 and No. 3 in the lineup. Sarah Miller also blanked her opponent at No. 5 singles while she and teammate Sophia Rhazali received a forfeit victory at No. 3 doubles.
At Bloomsburg, the highlight for the Diplomats was Ananya Parekh and Lorena Saavedra going 2-0 in doubles action. Saavedra also won a match in singles, while Chloe Monachelli and Judy Yang split their two doubles matches.
Today's action concludes the fall season. The Diplomats will fully jump into dual action during the spring as that schedule begins in Mary Washington on Friday, February 12 when the Diplomats compete against Batten (Virginia Wesleyan).
