LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 35 Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team prepares to begin its 2026 season on Saturday at No. 23 Mary Washington, starting at 1:30 p.m. Head coach
Bruce Myers readies the Diplomats for their spring slate, beginning his first season at the helm of the F&M tennis program.
Top Returners
Luke Brodsky, senior: Named a 2025 first-team All-CC selection for singles with eight wins, primarily playing in the No. 1 match. Brodsky was also selected second team All-Centennial for doubles with 13 wins in the No. 2 match. The senior is currently ranked No. 20 in singles for the Atlantic South region.
Zac Ashtiani, senior: Recognized as a second-team All-Centennial Conference selection in both singles and doubles in 2025. Ashtiani tallied seven wins in singles, playing primarily in the No. 2 match. The senior recorded 10 victories in doubles with eight wins in duals, playing in the No. 1 match.
Soren Rudin-Aulenbach, junior: Named a second-team All-Centennial honoree for doubles last season, notching 13 wins in the No. 2 match. Rudin-Aulenbach also tied the team-high in singles-victories with 12 last year.
Gonzalo Gentou, senior: Recorded seven wins in singles with five coming in the No. 5 match. Gentou also registered double-digit victories in doubles, earning 10 wins with eight coming in the No. 1 match.
The Roster
F&M returns an experienced group that is ready to make a strong push into postseason contention. The Diplomats' roster consists of four seniors (
Zac Ashtiani,
Luke Brodsky,
Gonzalo Gentou, and
Tommy Hicks), four juniors (
Samuel Donnelly,
Campbell Gervais,
Carl Kamdin, and
Soren Rudin-Aulenbach), three sophomores (
Tucker Chesman,
Jack Gelman, and
Aaron Kwock), and three first-year athletes (
Ian Alonso,
Nate Arnold, and
Hugh Outwater).
In the Polls
The Diplomats are currently ranked No. 35 in the ITA National Poll, improving four spots from where they finished at the end of last season. Franklin & Marshall was also selected third in the Centennial Conference Coaches Preseason Poll with 37 points. Swarthmore was picked in the top spot in the poll with 49 points and seven first-place votes. Haverford trailed the Garnet with 43 points and one first-place vote.

The Road Ahead
After its match against Mary Washington on Saturday, F&M continues on the road against Carnegie Mellon (Feb. 21), TCNJ (Feb. 28), and Stevens (Mar. 8). The Diplomats then head to Orlando, Florida for five matches during their spring break. F&M will face Connecticut College (Mar. 15), Coe (Mar. 16), Hobart (Mar. 17), Vassar (Mar. 19), and Colby-Sawyer (Mar. 19) while in the Sunshine State.
Franklin & Marshall starts Centennial Conference play on March 28 against Swarthmore, followed by a road match against Gettysburg on March 31. The Diplomats play a non-conference match against Johns Hopkins on April 4, before starting a three-match homestand against Washington College (Apr. 8), Muhlenberg (Apr. 11), and Dickinson (Apr. 22). F&M wraps up the regular season on the road against Haverford (Apr. 24) and Ursinus (Apr. 25).
The Centennial Conference Tournament will be held on April 29 through May 3. The NCAA Tournament will be held on May 8 through May 20. The NCAA Singles/Doubles Championships will follow on May 22 to May 26 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
