2/18/2026 4:28:00 PM

LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team has sights set on this weekend's Centennial Conference Swimming Championship, as the event returns to the Kunkel Aquatic Center this Thursday, February 19 through Sunday, February 22.

F&M finished in third place in the championship one season ago, while the 2025-26 Diplomats have posted a 4-5, 2-3 Centennial Conference record in the dual meet season. The team's Centennial Conference wins came against Ursinus and Washington College, while the Diplomats earned non-conference victories against Elizabethtown and Division II Millersville.

In individual events, the top eight swimmers in each preliminary will advance to the championship finals, with the ninth through 16th swimmers advancing to the consolation finals.

Delphine Brown earned a top-eight seed in two freestyle events, as the first-year swimmer ranks sixth in 500 freestyle seeding and seventh in 200 freestyle seeding.

Grace Kovach (12th) and Madi Bickford (14th) are currently projected to qualify for the B Final of the 100 freestyle. Three Diplomats are ranked in the top 16 in the 1650 freestyle including Kathy Peitz-Diaz (13th), Ava Tseng (14th), and Abbey Schofield (16th).

Kala Zingle is projected to compete in the B Final of both the 100 backstroke (13th) and 200 backstroke (13th). She has teammates in the top 16 in both events, as May Hartog is seeded 14th in the 100 backstroke, while Brown sits in 12th place in 200 backstroke seeding.

The relay events will see each school field an "A" Team and "B" Team. There will be three final heats that include a heat comprising the top-six A Final teams, another heat that features a mix of A Teams and B Teams (three of each), and a third heat that features the lower six B Teams. Regardless of finish in the mixed final, the A Teams will be competing for the top nine points places, while the B Final Teams will compete for the remaining available points places.

The Diplomats have the fourth-seeded time in the 200 freestyle relay, while they are seeded in fifth place in both the 400 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay. F&M is sixth in both the 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.

Live video and live results for the entire weekend will be available through 'Championship Central' link. The link also includes a full schedule and psych-sheet. Both a team championship and individual accolades will be presented at the end of the competition, with first-team, second-team and honorable mention All-Centennial Conference honors going to the top-three finishers in each individual event. First and second-team honors will be awarded to the top-two finishers in relay races.
