LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall defeated Muhlenberg 9-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action Thursday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 8-5, 4-2 CC. while the Mules fell to 2-8, 1-5 CC.
Ross Silverberg and William MacArthur started things off with an 8-2 victory over Robbie Goldwein and Jason Teitbaum in No. 1 doubles actions. Tommy Weibye teamed up with Doug Silverstein to take down Jordan Rutt and Ben Berkowitz 8-1 at No. 2. James Tunner and Peter Bookman picked up an 8-2 over Ari Nutovits and Andrew Brod to wrap up doubles play.
Silverberg started singles play off with a 6-3, 6-1, victory over Rutt. Weibye made it by Goldweing, 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 1-0 (11-8) and MacArthur came away with a 6-1, 6-0, over Wayne Mitchel at No. 3 singles play. Eric Rouff picked up a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles and James Tunner finished the day off with a 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (9-6) over Berkowitz.
F&M returns to action on Saturday when the Diplomats host Haverford at 1:30 p.m.
