LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall lost 8-1 to No. 12 Johns Hopkins in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action Wednesday afternoon in Lancaster. The Diplomats battled hard with five sets going into tiebreakers. F&M fell to 6-4, 2-1 CC while the Blue Jays improved to 10-3, 5-0 CC.
Silverberg gave Casey Blythe a tough battle with two sets going into the tiebreakers for a 6-7 (4-7), 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) match. Freidman defeated MacArthur 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) at the No. 2 singles position.
Tommy Weibye picked up the lone victory of the day for the Diplomats with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4, victory over Jacob Barnaby.
Eric Rouff fell 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (8-6) at number four and
James Tunner lost 6-1, 7-5 to German Gonzalez at the number five singles spot.
F&M returns to court on Sunday when the Diplomats host Washington at 3 p.m.
