Diplomats Blank Mules

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall clinched a Centennial Conference (CC) playoff berth after defeating Muhlenberg 9-0 in CC men's tennis action on Thursday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 7-7, 6-2 CC, while the Mules fell to 1-8, 1-6 CC.

In singles action, the Diplomats recorded straight set victories. No. 1 Ross Silverberg cruised past Jordan Rutt 6-1, 6-0, while No. 3 William MacArthur and No. 4 Nolan Bacchieri rolled past their opponents 6-1, 6-1. Tommy Weibye picked up a win at the No. 2 spot, defeating Daniel Lakhman 6-3, 6-2. No. 5 Eric Rouff notched his victory over Eric Chavis 6-4, 6-2, and No. 6 Alec Tunner won with scores of 6-2, 6-0.

F&M also picked up all three doubles wins, with the No. 1 team of Silverberg and MacArthur taking down Rutt and Jason Teitelbaum with a commanding 8-0 victory. Weibye and Bacchieri teamed up for an 8-5 win at the No. 2 position, while the No. 3 duo of Peter Bookman and Parint Lertdumrikarn defeated Ben Berkowitz and Andrew Brod 8-3.

The Diplomats will be back on the court Friday when F&M hosts CC opponent Dickinson in its regular season finale. Match time is set for 4:00 pm.
