BALTIMORE, Md. – Franklin & Marshall fell for the first time in Centennial Conference (CC) play as No. 16 Johns Hopkins defeated the Diplomats 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon in men's tennis action. The Diplomats drop to 4-6, 3-1 CC with the loss, while the Blue Jays move to 8-4, 5-0 CC.
F&M picked up one win in doubles and one in singles. In doubles action, William MacArthur teamed up with Ross Silverberg at the No. 1 spot to notch a win against Andy Hersh and Sam Weissler 8-4. At No. 3 singles, MacArthur was the lone Diplomat victor as he defeated Ben Hwang in straight sets with scores of 6-4, 6-4.
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday when F&M hosts Swarthmore. Match time is set for 2:00 pm.
